August 17th was National Nonprofit Day, and the Lower Eastside Service Center was celebrated by having its logo and services advertised in bright lights over Times Square.
The billboard display was part of a nationwide effort to recognize charitable organizations and help raise awareness for their causes. LESC was one of 30 other nonprofits promoted in iconic Times Square that day, while dozens of supporters lined the streets to cheer.
National Nonprofit Day celebrates organizations that are making a positive impact on their communities and the world. “LESC is proud to support National Nonprofit Day,” says LESC President and CEO Valerie Walters. “We are committed to improving the health of communities and helping individuals who are struggling with substance abuse disorders thrive.”
